Kauai Moment

This is what happens when one forgets their gym gear, I was ‘forced’ (such a trial) to try a cup of Kauai’s rich coffee. While I am sure that their beans are organic and possibly Fair Trade too, their staffs possible lack of skill or interest in the art of making the coffee does show, in the overall bitterness of this cup. For a purveyor of quality, enjoyable food and beverages, and in a hotly contested market of coffee provision, they may need to focus more in this area. The price was reasonable though.

Coffee Bean Rating 3/5Kauai Coffee

The Truth is out there…

and how delicious it is too, only problem is, is that there isn’t enough, as their coffee’s are only served in one size cup. One may argue that only one size cup is needed when the coffee is so delicious, and satusfying, however if you want to relax and spend some time enjoying a good book, or great company then a second cup may be required.

They also serve a great tasting, red-espresso (made in the same fashion as a coffee espresso, just using rooibos tea instead) Full of flavour and a nice alternative to coffee.

Both of these drinks deserve a Coffee Bean RatingĀ  5/5

Red Espresso; Left, Americano Coffee; Right.

For those who cant handle the ‘Truth’

Then Woolworths coffee comes very close, and as luck would have it, we now have our very own Woolworths coffee bar in Longbeach Mall! It provides takeway coffee only, but provides a welcome and delicious alternative to Mugg & Bean, and uses Fairtrade beans too.
